W4R1 Done with extras

Wait, before you read any further it's not what you think. Before I divulge today's run, lets cover the weekend first.

Saturday (non run rest day) was my first legs day, it did turn into virtually a full body day though, still got aches this morning.

Right, today, run started off nice and steady, I'd woken my wife up prior to the run this morning as she is meant to be taking the grandkids to school today.

I'd completed the first 3 and 5 minute runs and I head a loud thump from up stairs, my treadmill is in the conservatory and the bathroom is above the entrance to that.

I stopped the treadmill and paused Laura, I ran upstairs to find my wife laying in the bath, she's slipped in the shower, I checked her over made sure she wasn't bleeding or anything and there weren't any broken bones.

I got her back onto the bed and helped her get dry, she isn't driving today.

She insisted I got back onto the treadmill, she knows what being off of it has done and what getting back onto it means to me.

After ensuring she is ok I did go and get back on, I did a brisk walk for a couple of minutes and then unpaused Laura, just in time for the second 3 minute run.

So, I did complete W4R1 with an extra run upstairs, lifting my wife and then an extra 2-3 minutes of walking thrown in.

I know some people will probably think that the extra walk is cheating but I'm more than happy to re-do this run (twice more infact this week :) )

Happy running everyone.

Glad the wife is OK and it’s great that you still had the energy to complete the session too! All the best.

I hope your wife is ok. My mum broke her arm slipping in the bath. Might be worth getting checked over by your local GP to be on the safe side ?

I don't think you'd need to redo the run but that's just me : )

Well done on carrying on with your running !
