Rest days
It is recommended that you do not run on consecutive days until you have run for a minimum of six months.

Ok that makes sense
I'm not working at the moment so have a lot of spare time and am getting bored!
Any non impact cross training on your rest days will make you a stronger runner, as explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I guess I could stick my trainers on and go for a walk
Still gets me outside
Good idea! Walking is brilliant. Good for everything, and you burn calories just the same. More so, in fact, as you can walk longer and further You could go and recce some new running routes! Have you looked at the Strength and Flex podcasts. You can do them while you’re out on your walks They’re with Laura of the C25k fame 🙂.
Home exercise is good too Loads you can do in front of the telly to a dvd or YouTube
Your day off is sancrosanct. As a new runner that is 👍😃
Even the very best athletes tend to have one rest day a week. Six months in maybe you can go to 4 days a week. I’d wait maybe another year to 18 months after that to go to 6.
Take the excellent advice from IannodaTruffe ,, rest days are non negotiable and the list of what other exercise you can do on some of your rest days is endless!!! At least six months and many experienced Graduates would advise 12 months too.
