Hoping this is true! I've just done my first 1st run of week 2 on the app and can't ever see me being able to run a full 5k without stopping. I won't be giving up though, that's for sure.

Don't take that attitude 'Dethark', many people including 'AnnieW55' also thought that they could never run non-stop for 30 minutes. By the end of the program you should be able to run for 30 minutes, not necessarily 5k, only 10% of people can do that, however, once you graduate and do consolidations post graduation runs, you can slowly increase the length of the runs you do to 5K and who knows like Annie might be able to run 16K

It really is true.

Out for a 16k run this afternoon that involved several hills. Today I ran up them, some without really noticing them. When I started c25k (albeit quite a while ago) There was no way that was happening.

Wow Annie, that's fantastic that you ran16K this afternoon, just shows how fit you are now, didn't even notice hills, as you say you certainly couldn't have done that way back pre C25K days, well done.
