Hi, can anyone give me some tips on breathing please, I’m in week 2 and really stuggling with breathing. My body generally is very strong as I weight lift x2 and box x1 times a week but really struggle with the breathing (more like panting) part. Naturally I’m a sprinter and can easily do a short sprint but anything slower requiring the least bit of stamina really causes me problems. Is there anything g I can do to improve this, holding a conversation whilst running seems an impossibility at the moment.

Slow down... and then, even more so... and just breathe like you do all the time. If you are struggling, you are moving too fast... and believe me.. there is always, always slower :)

Strength and sound, stamina exercises on some of your rest days pays dividends too....building up as the runs get longer.

Many of us have daily routines, or rest days routines. Non impact exercise.. walking cycling, climbing, yoga or Pilates... swimming etc...as well as the standard core strength exercises.. are all useful!

Aargh no tried running even slower (very slow) and still can’t seem to breathe properly, did an experiment of running much faster and seem to have a better rhythm but clearly I could not run at that pace for very long but it was just a test. Am I panicking and making myself breathe faster?
