Good question! I have no idea of the answer though. You have to recover mobility post operatively., what is recommemded by your doc or physio at hospital?
My SIL did walking and swimming, i think stationery bike can be used too but I’d be guided by my physio. Do you get physio post op on the NHS? If so,I’d be asking the question
I can understand your wanting to get fit and healthy and C25k is brilliant but you have to be sure you’re ok to start, but we’re not doctors
Someone here will give you a better answer and will probably be along shortly 😃
Thanks for replying- I’m 3 years post op, have walked & cycled over that period - just wanting to step things up a bit & just hoping to gauge how others have done 😀
It will be interesting to hear if others have done it
It is gentle to start with, mostly walking with a few slow jogs. There is absolutely no need to hurry or push at all. The only thing is to finish each session. I used the podcasts with Laura and hung on to her every word for the duration of the programme. there is an app now with a choice of people to talk you through it There is a sticky which you should read first which explains all in detail
I have just started going to the gym to help with getting stronger to support longer runs where I was getting hip pain. It’s going well 🙂
There are plenty of older runners here. I was nearly 57 when I started the programme
I think wanting to get fit and healthy is a fab idea. Good luck 😃👍
