Running since graduating.

I’ve completed two runs since graduating on a Monday, both very different. I’ve decided to try a few different things to see what works.

My first run, I went completely free. I walked until my muscles felt warm, then ran roughly my usual distance on a familiar route, then walked home. I was slow. Very slow. I didn’t listen to any music, and although I had my Fitbit tracking, I didn’t use the pace updates.

Tonight, I used one of the C25K+ stepping stones podcasts. I find keeping in time easy - I danced a lot when I was younger - but felt a bit constrained. The walk was slower than I would usually do, and I had to focus a lot on lengthening my strides once jogging to keep with the pace. I didn’t hate it, but it felt a bit weird. I think I’ll give it another go before I make up my mind!

I did each one pf the podcasts,, three times to rest them out.. I found Stepping Stones like a dance step too! Stamina and Speed are my favourites !

I’m really enjoying knowing how much stronger I am than I have been in a very long time - and thinking of the progress I’ve made!

I use mapmyrun to keep an idea of distance running different routes but love the freestyle running
