Hi I've never run in my life I'm 53 and overweight anyone else been in my shoes on here would like to know how your getting on 🙂
fruit is not much better than buns and biscuits. It's all sugar. Try skipping the sugary carbs altogether and youll have a lot more pep in your step
I find it helps to run in the morning when I can, usually only after a cup of tea, and I then eat afterwards. Otherwise I feel too loaded down.
I reached the end of week 7 and then injured myself (not running) and hadn't run for a few months. I'm 54, overweight and have a problem with my hip - which makes walking uncomfortable /unpleasant.
I know that I have to be in the right frame of mind... it's so easy to put it off because I know it's going to be tough - but last time I did this I actually found that once I'd got though the mental barrier (accepting it was going to be in comfortable and I'd probably want to give up), it actually helped my hip slightly and made my joints a bit freer.
It's hard - I've been going for a month and am still struggling to run more than 1-2 times a week so not yet past W2 this time. But from everything I've read on this forum, if you can keep going you will really see the benefit!
On that note, I'm going to finish my tea, and get my running shoes on fir the first time in a week

Sometimes it is a correlation not a causation. And more running might stop the buns, it's funny how that happens but it often does.

Lose the buns and bikkies and really start to love those runs...
