Don't do too much too quickly. That's asking for an injury. Increase distance gradually, and keep running consistently in terms of number of workouts a week. To get faster, intervals of faster running alternating with slower jogging will really help.

Thanks, I really appreciate the advice. Finally feel I'm getting somewhere with the running lark lol

I have been using the speed and stamina podcasts for the last couple of weeks, usually doing 2 stamina and 1 speed a week. I tried stepping stone first and found that OK so moved onto the other 2. I would suggest starting off with stepping stone and see how that goes, I you can do it easily then try stamina and then do speed. I think it works best to mix it up a bit. I think next week I'm going to do stamina, speed and then some sort of longer run to my own music as 'm getting a bit bored of the same old podcasts.

Thanks for your advice. I have downloaded the podcasts you mentioned and will try stepping stone first. Looking forward to it !

I graduated at the beginning of October and I have been doing a mixture of 'Stepping stones' and the speed podcast. Not tried stamina yet. Stepping stones is where Laura's alter ego appears and she nags you to be a better human being! I did find out what to do with my hands though and I am still happy to listen to her as I do miss her.

I have done speed 3 times, just once a week. It is a shorter run but you get to run like billy-o for 6 x 1 minute. I get a big endorphin rush after that one and love it! Despite feeling sick after the 2nd one each time. And I have got faster!

I have also been listening to week 9 and 7 Laura - sometimes by accident. Plus some days of my own music.

Think I will try stamina this week. Let us know how you get on!
