Hi moger knee and shin pain is quite common with new runners, don't fret. Rest for a few days, use a cool pack to reduce the swelling and hopefully it should settle down. There are exercises for runners you could try to help build up the muscles around the knees, check on line for the best that will help you. Hope you get it sorted soon.
