can i hurt my stoma by pull or push something i only had it 3wks an got staples out and dr said i can drive and do what i want help !

If you're only 3 weeks since surgery you'll want to be taking things a bit easy :-)

That said, it won't be too long before you can be as active as before, don't strain yourself!

Driving - I was told to wait until I felt I could do an emergency stop without hurting myself, so if you still have staples it might be a bit soon?

It is important that you take extra care not to strain your core muscles as you can cause a hernia (which isn't too bad I have one) some one said it takes 12months for your muscles to strengtben and for the healing to be totally complete . I think this is right from my own experience I am 12 months on and feel so much better I can even sleep on my stomach now.my advice would be to tke everything slower than you feel you should be careful but enjoy the life you had before your op and be reassured that you will beableto do what you what good luckxx
