I had dla higher rate for mobility and middle rate for care indefinitely.
I’ve had an assessment for pip and the things they have put are not true, they put I do gardening, which I haven’t been able to do for about 20 years, she asked what I used to like doing and I told her.I have essential tremor and cmt and other health conditions, they put there was not a tremor present, everybody who meets me knows I have a tremor, they put I can touch my toes sitting down which I can’t,they also put I reached behind my back to put documents down, which I did not, they put medication stops the pain, which it doesn’t,I said it helps with the burning I get, they put I was confident, happy, smiling and in no pain, which I was not,she talked a lot with my husband, saying she used to do 12 hours a day with her other job and she only needs to see 4 people a day with this job.
The assessment awards me no points for care and 4 for mobility,so I don’t qualify,I got the letter on Friday and haven’t stopped crying,I was depressed before,I feel what’s the point now,I’ve gone through two surgeries since June and need another coming up in the next month,I am having a mri scan on neck and head because I am in pain.
They’ve made me look like I am a liar,I felt useless before,it’s made me feel even more so know.

I really feel for you and this is becoming common in certain areas of the country. A few months ago, one person covertly recorded the assessment and used it in an appeal - this hit the press and media! He won his appeal and all was restored.
First off get a mandatory reconsideration under way stating that the assessment wasn't in any way representative and that your Husband was present throughout to corroborate - he could attach a statement and sign it as a witness.
Re state how your condition affects you (if you dont feel up to writing get your husband or a friend to help support) - contradict the conversation and state in plain language how you feel - if it takes a few pages so be it. If the decision maker doesn't change their mind, you can then appeal through the court service. Yes, its long winded, but the more who do not back down are recorded as such and create a pressure on the current system.
Do Not let this "system" beat you - chin up deep breath, cup of coffee / tea and think carefully about a structured reply - YOU WILL beat them!
Hi I have CMT and am currently having adaptations done to the home as my walking id crap....i have no idea how I apply for benefits...can someone point me in the right direction. Im 53 and my CMT has got considerably worse.... tysm x
You need to ring them and ask them to send you a full copy of the report and once that is received you need to apply to the dwp for a mandatory reconsideration prior to an appeal. I used fightback4 justice to do my claim and they we3re brilliant. They have a page on facebook and also their own website but they do make a charge for helping you
that is awful izzybiz, but such a common story. They're right above to say appeal, and fightback4justice sound like a good idea. I would never vote conservative because the way they've treated disabled and poor people is disgusting.
Sorry to hear that im in the same boat what part of the country do you live ans what operation have you recently had i v just had ankle fusion for a second time on the same foot
