Hi Sean maybe your GP can prescribe a Beta-blocker for you. It definitely helped me.
Hi Sean,
I did have bad hand tremors when the muscles in my hands & forearms wasted in my early twenties. These physical aspects however were intermingled with great psychological/emotional distress (which worsens CMT hugely) so it's very much a chicken & egg situation.
A few years on although these muscles have of course remained wasted, I no longer have the tremors. I've never taken medication of any kind. All I can suggest in the short-medium term is to do as much light exercise in these limbs (and more generally) as possible and see if there's any difference after a while.
Here's wishing you all the best & take care.
Yes I have similar symptoms that are exacerbated by walking tremors, cramps and pain... the cramps are truly awful - my neurology consultant (whom I see once a year for approx 15 minutes) prescribed quinine tabs and they seem to alleviate the cramps in my legs, arms and hands... worth a try
I have bought more pens than I can remember,I was given beta Blocker but for me made no difference,I use Baclofen for cramps etc......
