My dad is no longer alive

He had no feeling in his hands and really thin ankles so i was wondering if he could had cmt

He was one you litterarly had to kick him in the pants ( lol) to get him to go to the docs so he never got checked

Hi, Lordie,

I think we'd need a lot more information about your late father before we could hazard an opinion. For example, did he trip over a lot, have a poor sense of balance, have reduced sensation in his feet as well as his hands, have very high insteps, walk with an unusual gait........ ? And even then it could only be a "maybe" as a neurological examination followed by the definitive tests (genetic testing and measurements of speed/power of nerve signals) would need the presence of the patient in person.

However, if you have reason to think you may have inherited a neurological problem from him, you would be advised to seek an investigation. for yourself (CMT is usually hereditary, with each child of an affected parent having a 50 per cent chance of inheriting it).

He fell sometime high arched and no feeling in his hands

My mom has flat feet and always had numbness and tingling in her legs
