Hi all. Really wanting to share stories, remedies, ideas for different ailments as the GP's seems too busy or don't have the exact knowledge of some of the conditions we have!

with pain relief, we have the over-the-counter ibuprofen and paracetamol which suits most people and the milder end of pain.

When it’s comes down to severe pain, but not under consultant review, there’s a big problem. Mainly because -

- after a while it comes less effective as your body gets used to it, and

- they are addictive.

I get the impression that in the US Painkillers were over-prescribed and there’s a clampdown on opiates.

Personally I’m very fortunate that my GP took an additional degree in pain management so he has prescribed Butec patches (look them up). But they are less and less effective as time goes on.

You can buy various stuff over the counter and here is what I’ve tried.

Magnesium- my husband finds it helps back pain. It does nothing for me.

Turmeric- has a slight effect

Rose-hip - waste of money for both of us but other people find it helpful.

Glucosamine with chondroitin: for my hallux rigidus. I cannot do without it.

What about you, painless? What have you tried?

Thanks for the info! Agree for sure. I do want to start taking the Glucosamine. Will look up the patches. Use and have tried everything else. I use piroxicam but your body gets used to that as well so less affective. It's nice to share with others who suffer as well. Have a great day!🙂
