Hi everyone, I’m a chronic pain sufferer which a lot of the time feels soooo hopeless! (I’m sure the majority of you know the feeling 🙄) so I was hoping since this community has pain in common we could all add a comment with ANY tips, tricks, advice or methods of pain relief! Anything is worth listing if you can! Thank you ✨💗

I have a sympathetic doctor who has an extra degree in pain relief. He prescribes Butec (look it up) and I also take ibuprofen. When I get up I do gentle stretches. I use the “ exercises For Older people,” you find it on the NHS website, and also go to UTube and do Joe Wicks exercises for seniors. Both these are brilliant for me, you go at your own pace. I’ve tried rubbing things in, no joy there.

My husband suffered from ankylosions spondylitis as a young man, his spine is immobile. He does the exercises with me. The charity he uses for help has a long name but if you put ankylosing spondylitis into a search engine it finds the charity straight away. They have a helpline and information.

Also, I take glucosamine with chondroitin and turmeric. These do nothing for my husband, who takes magnesium with some benefit. We’ve tried rose hip syrup, no good for us.

Hope this helps

Hi Painfullydone,

Being in pain is awful and I do sympathise with you. My situation is herniated discs, sciatica, osteoarthritis of the spine and I also had a heart attack last year so am on heart meds as well as pain meds. I have to be careful what I take now in case there is any interaction with the heart meds. I cannot take most herbal anti inflamatories as they interfere with the blood thinners!!! so tumeric is out, also fish oil and cumin!!! I have recently been prescribed lidocaine patches for my back and they do seem to ease it a little. I hope you find something that helps
