I completed an ‘assessment’ sent by Health Unlocked and scored a few ‘oh dear I’m not very happy’ points. Why? Because my ears are blocked with wax. So even with hearing aids I can hear very little, I wait five weeks for an assessment from a doctor (yes, that’s the waiting time at our surgery unless your problem is acute) and now I’m on the waiting list for a suction procedure ....

it means I dare not make appointments in case it clashes, I’ve had to refuse a holiday that I’m invited on, I feel isolated.

When you cannot hear it is acute and you should have been seen ASAP without hearing aids I am completely deaf and if I had wax stopping me from hearing I would be looking at an appointment the same day
