Does anyone have any experience with the 'back in action' mobiliser bed as on backinaction.co.uk/mobiliser? I suffer with chronic back pain from 2 discs and hypertrophic facet joints, and wondering whether to invest in one.
Back mobiliser: Does anyone have any... - Cloudy with a Cha...
Back mobiliser
I have similar problems with my back over the years. I bought a variable position bed from dreams with an ortho mattress and sleep well.
If you have a bad night you just alter the angles.
I don't know about a massage bed but have a recliner chair with combined massage. It sort of rumbles up and down your back and can be set to go up and down or to select certain areas. When I've been busy and need to pace myself, I sit down and set it for 15 minutes. It works for me because it helps to relax me and is a light massage which may help with circulation. I would check out what noise the bed makes if you are a light sleeper.
Don't under any circumstances contact a firm called Westminster Recliners /UK Mobility Direct you may as well throw your money out of the window coz you wont see it again or the goods you ordered
I have hired the mobilizer a few times ( for a month at a time ) and it does help. You can go to the shop to see if you feel any benifit from it befor you decide to hire/buy. It was very painful the first time I used it but when the programme stopped ( and I stopped yelling 😱 ) my spine felt more flexible. Last year it was about £275 to hire for a month ( I think ) and about £3000 to buy. I will hire it again soon as I am getting stiffer as the weather gets colder. Hope that helps you.
Regards
Sue
Thanks Sue, that's very helpful. Sadly am too far away from any of the outlets to try in store, and can't travel far. I've managed to find a local trainee chiropractor who has one, so I'm going to see him next week.
kind regards,
Heppie
Yes Sue, I hired one for 4 months from beginning of December and I'm finding it really helpful. I managed a 44-day record of managing without codeine, and even when I did need some, it was only for a couple of days, so a vast improvement there. May still be early days, but my chiropractor noticed a difference within a week when I started using it! The back-in-action online support has been really useful too. I've started being able to sit down for meals too, which is a real plus!
kind regards,
Heppie.
Hi Sue,
Yes I am still improving and beginning to come off some pain meds after a year... Walking very much better this last couple of weeks and even started doing some gentle aerobic exercise class again! It cost £1500 to hire the machine for 4 months. After that I can either do it monthly at £599, or another 4 months at £1500 I think. Or I can invest and buy one for about £3500! Or a reconditioned one for £2500. I also have been to a chiropractor who noticed a difference almost immediately when I started using it. I am also doing some Pilates exercises to help with core strengthening. When I phoned the back-in-action people they were really helpful on the phone and they have continued to support me individually using an online diary. Would recommend.
