Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain and fatigue syndrome. It seems to be misunderstood by all except the suffer, that's why it is important to help others that have is horrible condition.

I agree I was treated for RA for 5 yrs before getting a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. Sometimes I think people think I exaggerate how bad I am
I am lucky that I can still work full time (with adaptations and allowance). They have just made our car park twice the size and as getting ready for work is difficult on bad days I often end up at the far end. I asked could I be allowed to park elsewhere on site nearer to my office this week and the manager I asked to apply for me (procedure) she said nothing but the look said everything! I'm still waiting to get an answer I actually sent the email copying the manager so fingers crossed I get an answer next week.
Regular people I find will never understand and they can be the meanest people on the planet because if you don't look sick you must be faking it and yes we are the ones walking around with a fake smile when all you really want to do is crawl in hole somewhere and die. So in a sense I guess there right when we are going through life acting like everything is fine and if your in shape and have nice hair and clothes how could anything be wrong with you when you look better than they do...lol I'm just saying and I know... I live it every miserable day of my life
I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and am just glad I have a name for the symptoms I have had for what seems like years. I have always suffered with aches and pains, especially in my legs, but put it down to just general 'weather'...'exercise' .... anything like that! You are so right in that many people dont know what it really means to have it. Apart from the pain it's the tiredness that get's me down. My energy comes in spurts if i push myself and I have to rest a lot in between! Where have my late nights gone? The worse thing is that you can look completely fine......but you are not.
I know all I ask is for empathy and understanding. As you say I am also the first to offer it everyone else, but often they can see an end to there stuffing in a short time. Fibro people injured pain each and every day. They also seem to have a mass of other symptoms to deal with ie ibs exhaustion ect. It like a full time 24/7 job with no breaks.
I agree completely, and I want to genuinely wish you all the best and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I got permission to park closer to my office which is great. I have however had lots of pain last week and today the pain was so bad and all my joints stiff and painful that I didn't make it in to work I am feeling very low at the moment.
