Maybe they were onto something with the horse meat after all Chris...

Horse has lots of iron, little fat and lots of omega-3. It is healthier than beef, so long as you're not eating an old steeplechaser laced with phenylbutazone.

Maybe they'd have been better leaving it in our processed products after all!

And no jokes about it giving you the trots...

Surely all they need to do is stop putting all the additives in that make our bacon like cardboard I do not think anything is bad for you in moderation what next will be bad for us

I agree with Quizy, the comments in the media yesterday included such things as 'people who eat processed meats tend to also .....' List of various things including smoking! Surely rather than just issue this type of statement thy should try to qualify it better?

'Conspiracy theory on'. Suddenly no one is talking bout the horse meat scandal. 'Conspiracy theory off'.

Perhaps we should all make more effort to grow more at home 'dig for health'

In answer to Hairbair's question. My occasional Sunday morning treat will continue ..... For now.

Its all about moderation, anyway, who can afford meat,i am so poor that the mice have left home, and do not kid yourself that this horse meat business is something new,so lets reign it in,( thats for you newdawn lol )

Next thing,we will be getting sea horse in our fish fingers

Be good everyone,if you cannot be good,be careful, this CLL will not get the better of us

From a recent news item it seems as if there will be a glut of venison coming on the market soon which is meant to be a healthy option.

Saw my doctor today and he said I should watch what I am eating - so I'm planning to go to the Grand National !
