car t trials CLL
Hello Corin. There are clinical trials for car T in the US. These trials can have different eligibility requirements. I see you are in the UK. Hopefully Newdawn or Jackie or somewhere there will know if there are carT trials near you.
In most cases, to my understanding, car T is considered after all conventional treatment options have failed like FCR, a btk drug or venetoclax.
I see from your profile you have had all three of those treatments. It sounds like you quit ibrutinib due to side effects, not to btk drug resistance, which is good.
You might want to talk to your doctor about rechallenging your Cll with a btk drug other than ibrutinib, like calquence. Calquence is believed to be more targeted than ibrutinib with less side effects. I am on calquence now after ibrutinib and it’s definitely easier on me. Good luck to you.
Further to cajunjeff 's mention of how CAR-T is considered after all conventional treatment options have failed and suggesting you'd be after UK information, one of our previous UK volunteers, Rob Oleboyredw-uk , has been detailing his good progress on a CAR-T trial. Sorry, missed your question, for some reason it came up in today's digest.
As @AussieNeil stated, I am on a CAR-T trial and in the UK. To the best of my knowledge there is only one CAR-T trial in the UK. That is ALLCAR19, led by UCLH. I'm not sure what centres it is being run in, but I'm supported by The Christie in Manchester.
Neil has already supplied a link to my ramblings, however if you have any questions let me know.
i hope thing go well for you, best, rob.
