CLL Specialist

I am so grateful to this forum for encouraging me to see a CLL specialist. Yesterday I went to see Dr Furman at Weill Cornell in Manhattan and he was excellent. He is extraordinary in his knowledge and ability to explain the nuances of the disease. I was able to review my genetic markers and he spent over an hour with me and my husband. When I left his office I was encouraged. His advice to me was get your vaccines and live a normal life and see you in three months.

It was because of this forum that I looked for a CLL specialist as well, and I also see Dr. Furman. I agree, he is an extraordinary doctor and I feel enormously fortunate to be able to see him as my specialist.

And no need to do double testing from a local hem-onc plus Dr. Furman. Results can be shared even if in different healthcare systems. I make sure my GP gets results from my specialist, so if something happens to me near home (I am not near my specialist in event of an emergency) at least the lab work is available locally.
