My 24 year old son has been having borderline high Uric Acid. So we were getting it tested periodically. His current uric acid level is in normal range.
In December blood tests, his Absolute lymphocyte count was 2.49 (40.2%). His yesterday’s Absolute lymphocyte count was 3.63 (52.5%)
Could he be having CLL @ 24? Or could be be any other L?
His Urine creatinine is also borderline high 297.
I’m scared and having a nervous breakdown
Apart from Flow Cytometry, IgHv mutation status, FISH for CLL, what other tests would be recommended?

Flow cytometry is the test they run for Cll. I don’t think any other Cll tests would be warranted until a Cll diagnosis is confirmed.
That said, and I am not a doctor, the numbers you describe don’t seem all that alarming to me. Any infection, one your son might not even know he has, can raise lymphocytes. I think younger people have a higher normal range of lymphocytes than older people do anyway.
You should report your concerns to your sons doctor. I don’t know that he/she would do any other tests just because the % of lymphocytes is slightly high.
Our children are likely at some increased risk for cll, but even the increased risk is still very low. I can’t say it’s impossible your sons slightly elevated lymphocyte % is related to cll, it just seems unlikely. It’s certainly natural as a parent to be concerned.
What does his doctor say? I would guess his doctor sees blood counts with slightly elevated lymphocytes all the time, it’s really not that unusual a finding as I understand it.
You are welcome. What does his doctor say about it? That would be my starting point, to ask his doctor. A flow cytometry test could rule out Cll. If his doctor isn’t ordering such a test, he must not be that concerned.
Have sought a doctors appointment Jeff. Will keep you posted. The uric acid tests taken by my son were suo moto test and not something the doctors ordered.
Just noticed you mentioned a pain in your toe in a recent post and high uric acid could be gout, and that can be genetic. Treated with diet and Allopurinol.Just my non medical thought as I have a couple of friends who suffer with it.
Thanx Colette for replying. The pain in the toe is my issue and not my son’s. My uric acid levels are normal. My son’s levels are shuttling between normal and borderline high for some years now. Doctors said it could be congenital 🤷🏻♂️
Thanx. My son was in ICU for a month when he was 10 months old. Docs could not diagnose what it was and kept pumping him with all kinds of meds. Finally, his doctor went on leave and another doctor was Godsend. He guessed it was a rare malaria, and treated it and he was cured.
