Maisey, it means that as of now you appear to have a very slow growing and indolent type of cll.

With cll, the cancerous cells we have are lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. These cancer cells divide and do not die as quickly as normal lymphocyte cells do such that, over time, the number of lymphocytes we have continues to increase.

If the number of lymphocytes we have doubles in six months, that is a sign our cancer is growing fast and we may need to start treatment. If that number doubles in three years, as yours appears to have done, that's a very good sign that your cll is just creeping along and it could be many years before you need to treat your cll.

That rate can speed up or slow down, but right now its slow and steady. That's good. Of course it would be great if your lymhocytes stopped increasing at all, but a spontaneous slow down to nothing is rare.

So long as all your other numbers are okay and you are feeling well, you can just park your cll somewhere in your brain and forget about it until your next labs.

That's not medical advice, just a non expert opinion. Some people are lucky enough to have slow growing cll and right now you appear to be one of them, which is great news for you.

Dear Maidey0, You have a slow growing

CLL. Take a deep breath. Relax. Do it again. I went 9yrs. Before I needed treatment. Since then I’ve had 3 different treatments and 18yrs later still doing great.
