I have CLL/SLL and I’m wondering if leg weakness is normal? There are times, and it is becoming more frequent, that my legs just give out on me. For months now I assumed it was a pinched sciatic nerve, but the pain isn’t constant. Also, my balance is completely shot. Would appreciate comments and recommendations. Thanks.

Do you have any peripheral neuopathy... ? I went through a period like that for about a year, with muscle weakness, and trouble knowing the position of my right leg.. coupled with a srrange form of vertigo...not true vertigo, but a sense of always about to fall...

I have had similar experience off and on. My legs are always weaker as the day progresses and stairs are hard by evening. My knees occasionally buckle out of now-where and it's scary. Fortunately not both at the same time yet. But I also have sciatica that stays in check only with exercise, and osteoporosis.
My doctor doesn't think these issues are directly CLL related but it does seem to be connected to fatigue. The docs tends towards thinking these things are age related. I'm not sure how old you are but I feel like I've aged 15 years in the last 2. I also think CLL effects my overall health and that plays a big part.
I wish you the best in finding the cause and some relief soon.
Unfortunately you have submitted two posts on this topic and the duplicate wasn't picked up. (This happens sometimes and can be caused by a site bug.) There are some helpful replies on the second post here: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
Hi there. I have leg weaknes and in my case we are linking to fatigue from the CLL. It feels a bit like what happens when someone is running a Marathon sometimes and they just collapse. I have never actually fallen but have come close many times. I use two Nordic walking poles to help me walk further. And if I reduce my walking rather than pushing it too much it tends to happen much less often.
Of course you should not assume that what I’m experiencing is the same thing as you and talking to your doctor is a smart move.
I have noticed weakness in my legs but it’s not clear if it’s related to CLL, diagnosed last year. My wife and I went into SF last weekend to visit out of town relatives and figured we walked at least five miles. In my case I think any weakness is related to age and not getting off my butt and getting more exercise!
Yes, normal. I have no idea what your medical situation as far as your age et., but I force myself to the gym and do some leg strengthening exercises to help counteract those symptoms (I'm 67). Also worked with a physical therapist, which was very beneficial. You do need to get some expert instruction on what and how to perform those exercises. Physical therapist is best or a really good personal trainer.
