A very good warning Dennis.
I think this is the same study Chris posted a few days ago;

For many of us, the damage has already been done due to childhood sun exposure, in particular from episodes of sunburn. I was surprised to have quite a few pre-cancerous skin spots identified during a thorough exam, that will just need monitoring, despite those areas not having seen the sun for many decades. (My parents encouraged me to always be out in the sun and without protection - it was considered healthy back then. Working on your tan was a part of summer days at the beach.
Being sun-safe isn't enough, we need to proactively have annual skin checks, or even more frequently if we are more prone to skin cancers.
