Do you have Imbruvica (ibrutinib) available to you for firstline? If you do, then zanubrutinib vs ibrutinib would be the question...

Without knowing more its very hard to go further...

not known because I am under 65 without 17p. Have unmutated and 11q. Doctor would need to get insurance approval which is unknown for Ibrutinib. This would mean br or zanubritib by random if I enter trial.

Bgb3111 is the new technology vs BR the old technology. Bgb3111 is a targeted drug similar to imbruvica as a BTK a inhibitor. Target therapy is where a lot of CLL a therapy is moving to.

CLL society web site has good information as well ,

I have been on BGB-3111 for more than two years (after getting very little relief from a chlorambucil-obinutuzumab trial in 2015, no doubt because I have 17p deletion). BGB has worked well for me. My lymph nodes disappeared in a few months and my lymphocyte count has steadily decreased to a whisker above normal in the past three months. The haematologist told me yesterday that none of the 40 patients in this New Zealand arm of the trial have progressed yet (although some will not have been on it as long as me). The most common side effect is spontaneous bruising, he said, although I have had crippling fatigue that is only beginning to lift now. (He also said I was the only one with fatigue.) It seems to be a very good drug that achieves higher concentrations in the blood than Ibrutinib with less toxicity and fewer side effects, but it also doesn't have as long a track record as Ibrutinib yet. The haematologist spoke very highly of it as an option.

I too am considering entering this trial. I am 11Q del and unmutated. Been in W & W for 2 and a half years. If not the trial then Ibrutinib. Need to make a choice in the next couple weeks.

I have been on bgb for nearly two years, firstline treatment with 17 p

delition. Very little side effects, a little bit of bruising, still work hard

physically some days but then only 4-5 hours. Lymphocytes within

normal range in 16 month. I think very highly of it and am thankful

I had the chance to participate in the trial.

All the best.

Why so few locations in the USA , lack of interest or too many hurdles to jump over . Glad it's here though!

Husband had 11 q deletion and only had 4 out of the 6 BR infusions. Though it worked on his upper half lymph nodes, he became severely neutropenic going on 4 months. Doctor said no more chemo for him. He is in his 3 week of Ibrutinib.
