Will someone please repost the link from Feb. 14 re: risk assessment and screening for hereditary cancer provided by Sloan Kittering?
Is this what you are searching for?
mskcc.org/cancer-care/risk-...
Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Clinical Genetics Service offers hereditary cancer risk assessment, genetic counseling, and genetic testing by specially trained genetic counselors and physicians. If you are concerned about your personal or family history of cancer, our team of experts can help you make medical decisions about how to manage your risk.
Would Genetic Counseling Be Helpful for Me?
If you answer yes to any of the following questions, genetic counseling may be useful for you:
Have you or a close relative been diagnosed with cancer at an early age?
Do you have more than one blood relative with the same type of cancer? If yes, is the same type of cancer found in more than one generation?
Has anyone in your family had more than one type of cancer, not counting basal cell or squamous cell skin cancers?
Some organs, such as the breast, kidney, and eye, come in pairs. Has anyone in your family had cancer on both sides of a pair of organs?
Are you related to someone who is known to have an inherited mutation that can cause cancer?
Exactly! Thank you! Do you have any knowledge of such research in Boston, for example Dana Farber?
I found this link by a simple Google search:
dana-farber.org/cancer-gene...
note the narrow areas of study/expertise at DF
I saw lots of Boston hospitals from this:
google.com/search?newwindow...
but here is what I would suggest---> a broader question:
google.com/search?q=genetic...
IMO- there appears to be a number of commercial firms that will charge you for the evaluation. There are also 2 papers, one from cancer.gov and the other from cancer.org:
cancer.gov/about-cancer/cau...
cancer.org/cancer/cancer-ca...
You may want to carefully consider the source of information and what motivation a group like CellMaxLife, CTCA or Color has.- Is is profits or altruistic service to medicine?
