I certainly eat a lot of eggs with no ill effect but the important thing is to make sure they are not cracked before use, are within date and stored properly.

It’s during and after treatment that we must be much more careful as white blood cells and particularly neutrophils can be low, reducing our resistance to bugs and pathogens. Its then a ‘neutrophenic diet’ is advised with careful attention to hygiene. However, even then, I’ve not heard of well kept and properly cooked eggs being excluded. I certainly wouldn’t have them raw however.

This is the Bloodwise advisory document with dietary advice whilst neutropenic;

bloodwise.org.uk/sites/defa...

If others have heard of contra indications with eggs, I’m sure they’ll say.

Regards,

Newdawn

Thanks a lot, that's exact what I believe...I am on W&W, protein is quite key concern on my diet.

As long as you don't eat raw eggs in cookie dough, or in salad dressing like Caesar dressing. My husband has been eating eggs for the past 3 years of CLL.....and even while neutropenic. I do cook his eggs to a hard state or scramble them while neutropenic because of risk of bacteria.

Any further info on the years could last for W&W, more than one year for my case. Quarterly visit result is stable, and I am physically okay apart from some common symptoms like fatigue, enlarged spleen. Adjusted my lifestyle, diet...do hope I could stay a longer time on this stage for better solutions.

I hope you stay on W&W forever.

I'm also n the same situation, no symptoms, my Specialist waves off any of my concerns and says he will be long retired before I need treatment.

Of course they monitor for any sudden changes that will trigger medical response, but on a regular CLL path, its 10 to 20 years wait.

We will be cured by then :)

Thanks Eric. Wish very good luck for us all, for the condition we could maintain, and good news we could receive in future, near future...

We will be cured by then! :)

I’ve been eating eggs - mostly scrambled or poached - for 17 years since diagnosis without any issues. And I like mine soft

Oops! I eat eggs on a regular. Boiled plain and in salads, fried sunny (medium), and poached. I've also taken a liking to eating raw cake batter the last 2 cakes. Something I've not don't since a child of 10. Never made a connection between eggs and CLL.

I regularly eat eggs, boiled, scrambled

and make Mayonnaise and Semi- Freddo both using raw eggs. I use good quality free range. I had no idea about raw eggs, nuts, cheese.

Good day, I eat them every day cooked completely. I get super fresh ones, right from the egg box every night. My concern recently is I take care of my peeps, cleaning there run, I read earlier about the garden soil being unsafe thinking my peeps run may be worse.

Oh boy, well I'm very careful to wash well, never touch my face and protect myself during clean up. My coop its' self I very seldom have to go in, all my peeps sleep out in there run. The peeps and roo I have now are not lovable like my last group, no chicken cuddling lol. Thank you for the info.

Thank you for the read, I feel I am always so careful around the grand kids, every thing I eat washing my hands consistently, staying out of large groups, Ive always been super careful with the chickens, I will have to add more protection now I guess.
