Hi Maria, I am also a 13q deletion according to my FISH test. It is the most favourable deletion to have, according to all the research I have done, and my hemetologist/oncologist. However, we still have CLL and problems with our immune system. So although many patients with a 13q deletion may not need treatment, or at least not for many years, determined by physical symptoms and watching trends in blood values, you must still guard against bacterial infections, and know that we are still susceptible to secondary cancers. So take precautions as discussed many times here in the postings. I wish you the best.
