I've been experiencing this problem since completing FCR

GP can't get to the bottom of it and Consultant say maybe a referral to ENT would help.

Having said that it does appear to be fairly common after treatment and in view of the different treatments it may be the common denominator is Retuximab?

The same thing happened to me on BR. I took claritin to try to help keep it under control but then I just had a dry cough. My doctor says its common.

Cough is a common side effect from Rituxan. Discuss this with your doctor to be sure it's not a more serious complication.

Cough, cough, blooming cough seems to have become the sound of my life. It is a fantastic tracking device (always looking for a benefit) my wife can always find me when we go shopping etc. I think I can trace the start back to FCR back in 2009. Since then I have had what seems like an annual Rituximab dose with other medications, which may explain the persistence of my cough.

I also lost my sense of smell but sometimes have a quick period when this sense returns. The surprise scent of a freshly peeled orange is fantastic.

Here's hoping that your hubby's coughing experience is not as persistent.

Keep well

I had a cough for five years. In the end I was referred to the chest specialist at the local hospital. They stuck a camera down there, took samples and then found five antibiotics that worked on the samples. The second one did work and within three days I stopped coughing after five years. Such a relief! having been cough free for a few months I noticed that every time I had any cows milk I would start coughing again so I cut it out and all was fine. I since found other triggers such as cats, household cleaners, pollution and car spray so I avoid them if I can.

I also found breathing in steam for one minute would relieve the cough at least for a short while. You put some boiling hot water in a heat proof bowl, put a tea towel over your head, close your eyes to prevent scalding them then breathe very slowly and deeply including through your nose. The steam melts and softens the mucus and kills bacteria.

Make sure you don't have Bronchiectsis. I had it, doesn't show on X-ray only on CT.
