I have just been diagnosed and see a 70% lymph? What does this mean? It does not sound good

What does 70% lymphocytes mean?
Please totally ignore %lymph (lymphocytes) in your blood test results and look at the absolute lymphocyte count (ALC). Percentages are absolutely meaningless when you have leukaemia.
Why is this?

To reassure you, my %lymph has been around 90% for the past 4 years and I'm sure there are members with higher percentages than me, considering we have some untreated members with ALCs of 200 to 300 (thousand).

As Aussie Neil has said it is the rate of change of the total lymphocytes that are monitored in CLL or ALC. You can use the %lymphocites to calculate the total lymphocytes if they are not reported directly in you blood results.

Worth trawling through the whole of the CLL/SLL section on the main site for a good start to understand more about cll so you can discuss your journey with your doctors.
Then hopefully watch and live
I have been above 90% lymphocytes for several years as well. My doc keeps thinking I will be catching everything around and I have stayed pretty healthy. I work with children and rarely get sick. Try not to worry and best of luck.
