Kindness and Compassion for Better Health Care

"When healthcare is delivered with kindness and compassion, it has a significantly greater effect than when it is given in a dispassionate fashion that assumes that the human connection has no benefit."

While medicine holds the power to cure, how it is delivered can make a huge difference -- not just for patients but for health care providers, too.

Also, patients who are looking for more compassion in their care should be more compassionate themselves -- seeking to understand the stresses health care workers are under.

So very true.

Absolutely right Shazie, I have many reasons to be grateful for the kindness and compassion I and my partner have been shown over the last traumatic year.

Have a happy Christmas
