For those that haven't yet signed up for Patient Power Videos, Andrew Schorr has just posted this interview with Dr David Porter on the latest progress on CARS:

"Immunotherapy using chimeric antigen receptors (CARS) is an experimental approach that enlists a CLL patient's own immune system to fight the cancer, and the approach has received worldwide publicity. Several very ill patients treated at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia by Drs. Carl June and David Porter had a dramatic, positive turnaround in their health. But it didn't work for everyone. Nevertheless, patients have deluged the researchers with queries, "Could this trial save my life?" In this video, Dr. David Porter explains that while the research is still in the early stages, he believes that we may be nearing a time of breakthroughs in using a patient's own immune system to beat CLL, and possibly other cancers as well."

When (trying to) watch this video, I frequently had a nagging pop-up asking me to complete a feedback survey on the video - which reset the video. Hopefully you will be able to first watch the video before being asked to respond to the survey! (I was using Firefox on a Linux desktop.)
