My husband's 2nd round of fcr was delayed again due to low hemoglobin but other blood values are within range. What could be causing this?

Hi sorry to tell you but after each cycle I had to have injections to bring my blood up. It does though add to the disruption to daily life and something else to worry about. Best wishes

We're getting more used to the disruption, I'm looking to better understand how this is treated....thank you for your input! Best to you, too...

Many people have to postpone treatments while counts recover, especially neutrophils. If your husband's hemoglobin does not start to go up on it's own his doctor may recommend transfusions. You might also want to ask about a condition called AIHA if the situation does not seem to be resolving or is getting worse, but it sounds like he is experiencing one of the frustrating issues related to just getting treatment done and over with. Never be afraid to ask his doctor about what is going and what the possible causes are!

Oh, yeah, no fear here about asking LOTS of questions :)...he had a bone marrow biopsy today and when we go back to get the results on Wednesday we'll find out whether his doctor is recommending Acyclovir or the 2nd round of fcr depending on whether the issue is red blood cell production or cll crowding in the bone marrow. BTW, it's so true about wanting treatment "over and done with", and it's amazing what we can get used to when the reality of living with this disease sets in!
