Anyone seen this and what do we think?

Not sure about the palpitation thing. I have had them for 25 years now - mentioned to several doctors and they all dismiss it as "normal" or nothing to worry about. Maybe atrial fibrillation is different altogether? Have had 3 ecg's and everything is normal. Can anyone tell me the difference?

I have been informed that "palpitations" can be caused by any number of things. Stress, hormones (female monthlies!), exercise, menopause, you name it.

Whether or not these are true leaves me to wonder if the Drs know themselves. If there are other symptoms alongside these palpitations, such as pain, or numbness I would go to see my GP immediately. Palpitations on their own could be benign but it is worth visiting the Surgery if worried ( worry can cause palpitations!)

Good- if this means Dr's will take Palps more seriously now and not send patients away without further investigation to rule out heart problems.

Regrettably my wife suffered some palpitations and her GP told her it was her age, very sympathetic!!

Have them at times , apparently when not feeling them. Not bothered myself, but doctors wanted me on warferine. took for 3 days then after thinking about side effects etc., discontinued. Recently was suggested Didone 120 mg, as unable due to asthma to have beatablockers. Not sure what that med is yet.. Have had occational angina. Doing ok just now, but suppose doctors must advise to cover themselves. Mid 70s so not worried as doing pretty well. Some years back had to walk real slow but have improved slowly over the years, havent a clue why, but making the best of it now.
