This dropped into my inbox today. It's a game changer in that it is likely to be one of many controlled trials comparing low fat to high fat diets. Note who sponsored the research.

The take home is in the last paragraph.

Have we not been duped into he 'low fat' benefits?

Only if you're not listening. I was referred to dieticians by my lipid clinic recently and they told me to increase my fat intake, but to read some things on this site, you'd think that never happened. The current dietary advice isn't "low carb high fat" but it's definitely not "low fat" either, so studies like this are comparing with something that isn't being recommended. It is rather frustrating. I'd hope that NIH would have the guts to include the current recommended diet in a comparison study.

NHS dieticians? no thanks. Went to NHS weight no programme, was there for 8 weeks just to listen and collect materials. Gave up the plan and id my own food intake and food intake control.

From the media we can see the changes are coming, the questions is who will be the first to start the new food plan?
