That is the least-worst item I have ever read from the "Health" section of the Daily Fail. It is rational, sensible and they generally chose a decent bunch of medics to talk to. Surprisingly it wasn't even a standard Daily Fail scare story?! I would like to see where the side effects to statins were reported on. I haven't seen any RCTs that report bad side effects on statins for the vast majority of people. A link to some report that wasn't just his own experience would have been good. I hope the Fail does more like this and abandones its normal editorial approach to health.
