Statin dosage, I was taking 20mg, GP has given me 10mg medication. My question is "Can I continue with 20mg every other day till finish it?"

I normally cut 20 mg into 2 pieces. It is cheaper this way.

To be frank i have never known a doctor reduce the strength of statins.

I did not want to go on statin in the first place, as it was taking long time to reduce cholesterol I went on statin. GP did not suggest it, it was my request to reduce the dosage.

Now my total cholesterol is 2.9, this is with medication and additional life style change (LCHF) food intake. My plan is to work towards coming off statin.

i heard you can have your cholesterol too low below 4 is too low and your body may be lacking magnesium if it continues to stay low

Is it your total cholesterol that is 2.9 or your LDL?
