I also had Lipitor 20mg and ached all over to such an excess that I didn't want to walk anywhere. I also had frozen shoulder for over a year and had very little sleep with the pain. My doctor tried me on all other statins, but I still ached, so I do not take them now. My cholestral has gone up to 7.2 which is too high, but I dance 5 times a week and do Zumba. I had to weigh up high cholestral against poor quality of life and pain. I suggest you discuss your aches with your doctor, it is a side affect of statins, but sometimes to extreme.

The hip pain is probably caused by the statins. Discuss with your doctor whether to stop the statins and see if the hip pain stops..There is nothing worse than constant pain and not being able to enjoy life.

Hello,

Statins have many side effects!, please take look at the issues of side effect on the web. You GP should be able to change the type of statin you take starting from small amount till you are happy with it. I am afraid you may need to consider your food intake as well.

I am 67, last Friday I helped my daughter to clear the garden. Stared station 6 weeks ago. On saturday I could not bend down to pick things from the floor or sit on the toilet, driving the car was very difficult, the pain was so bad!, a week later I am fine. I am giving 6 months to statin to see if it can reduce my cholesterol, if there is no change in levels, that is it. No more statin and take life as it comes.
