I have a brain stem cavernoma and had Stereotactic Radiosurgery at Sheffield in Feb 13 as an operation was not an option. Gamma Knife treatment is an option you could look into. Good luck

Thank you Warwick , I had surgery almost ten years which was very high risk and was a success but over the past few years it has sadly grown back , in Ireland they tell me surgery is the only option so I appreciate any advise from the uk .

I am experiencing a worsening in symptoms and its like a time bomb waiting to go off embedded in my spinal cord , I have just had a baby and the symptoms seamed to get a lot worse when I was pregnant.

What kind of symptoms to u live with if u don't mind me asking ?

Hi Cloda,

I have a cavernoma in my spine at T5, I'm still waiting to see a new neurosurgeon as I've moved countries but I'll probably have "conventional" surgery, unless they really want me to try radiosurgery first...I have heard some places do radiosurgery but what it actually does and what the outcomes are aren't very clear yet.
