Today we heard of the passing of the iconic Dame Vera Lynn....and i am really struggling to not break down in tears, and i am half her age,but her songs captivated many in dark days of war.She was and is an inspiration even today with her hauntingly beautiful songs and that soaring voice.
Well meet again Dame Vera as you reach for the stars.

It’s very sad to hear of Dame Vera Lynns passing secrets. She had such a long and full life and brought joy and hope to many.
It’s a very emotional time now so give way to those tears. We will meet again.
Take care xxxx
Hi secrets22, I too was very emotional and found myself shedding a tear. Whether you were around in World War 2, or born after it, everyone of a certain age will have grown up listening to her songs. She's been a part of our lives for a very long time, whether her music was in fashion or out of it. Her songs remind me of so much from childhood. My mum and dad and the whole culture of the 1950s, and I think that's partly what made me sad. And more importantly, knowing what a magnificent thing she did for the morale of so many throughout the war years. Rest in Peace Dame Vera.🙏
I know what you mean, I've been quite emotional today as well, I think it's the sentiment in the song, We'll Meet Again, as I feel it's as appropriate now as it was back when it first came out, shed as many tears as you like, I know I will, and also I Will Meet Again all my friends and work colleagues
i think everyone are familiar with 'We'll meet again' as i saw on youtube when she was celebrating the 75th anniversary of WW2...and all the kids were singing with her.
She travelled 25,000 miles to entertain troops in Burma,Egypt & countless other countries, often putting herself in danger, and she was only 24.
Putting aside how Dame Vera was an inspirational lady, there is a lot for folks to be emotional about at the moment. Likely you are sad for more than a great lady passing on to the other side.
Let your tears out. Maybe ask yourself why you are sad and honour that too.?
Lots of us are sad for missing folks. Sad for missing our holidays, our fun days out. Sad for being fearful.
