Hi,

I was having lunch with a friend today, and I noticed this on her coffee table. I haven't read this yet, and I am not endorsing it, but on having a quick browse, I think it's worth reading it. Have any of you come across this book or any others that you may have found really helpful on this very topical subject? It's got some good reviews on Amazon UK. If you do read it, it may worth sharing on here what you think of it and if it's any help.

Thanks MAS_Nurse. This seems to have positive reviews on several sites. I'll definitely give it a go. I see that although it's a work of fiction, it's based on the author's broad personal experiences as a carer in UK.

Hi MAS_Nurse, I haven't come across this book and I don't buy things over the internet because it's not safe these days but I do Google things a lot. I have got lots of literature from the Alzheimer's society and dementiaUK. org.uk . I have come across leaflets on benefits WIRED for family carers and Attendance Allowance, and Lasting Power of Attorney etc.

Thanks for details of this book, I will be following up on this. You asked about other publications, one of the best I have ever read was written by Sally Magnusson, Where Memories Go - Why Dementia Changes Everything - and is her experience of caring for her mother with dementia. It is a very good read, hard hitting at times but I found it useful as my own mother has dementia. It was also a great tool for my QCF in Social Care. Highly recommend it.
