There are so many quotes from Winnie the Pooh that I love! I think my favourite, which I have on a bookmark is:
“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”
Yes! I love that too HBrand1. Someone re-quoted it on TV the other day and reminded me. There's so much wisdom in Winnie the Pooh and also in When We Were Very Young, and Now We Are Six. I still read them, often.
I saw a quote on TV advertising the new film on the adult Christopher Robin. Pooh remarked "People say nothing is impossible, but I manage to do nothing all day". Made me chuckle as I had never considered the emphasis in that way!
The other one I found on adult Outward Bound when packing for an overnight camp: "If we eat it all now, we won't have so much to carry".
Good old Pooh!

Haha honjen43!
Indeed, Pooh and company are priceless. My daughter has just requested all the books for her birthday, (and she's turning 49), so they are obviously timeless too!
Hi Mydexter,
That's a very spiritual observation and I totally agree.
I love this quote. Not really care related but I’m sure carers can relate to the feeling in the opening paragraph as well...
Here is Edward Bear coming downstairs, bump bump bump on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin.
It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels there really is another way..
If only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it!
Hi EM1234,
Well, the glorious thing about quotations is that you can interpret them any way which seems logical to you, and when it comes to caring, is there any relationship more enduring than that of a person and his/her teddy bear? Several of the older ladies I visit still have much loved teddies. My childhood one vanished, but I replaced him with a vintage look-alike and he is much loved and cherished. Maybe people who care, or Care, tend to be the nurturers and that extends even to our childhood friends like Ted.
My daughter and I have a favourite Winnie the Pooh poem from When We Were Very Young. It's the one that starts, "A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise". We very much identify with it!
Thanks so much for your thoughts!
Carers are selfless people.....
“Love is taking a few steps backward maybe even more… to give way to the happiness of the person you love.”
Pooh is right on again.
