I look after someone who has just been fitted with apomorphine pump. Has anyone had experience of one of these. Do they help the Parkinson’s?

Hi Lindac03 and welcome to our very friendly group. It's really a good idea for you to find out more about a new treatment being given to the person you care for. I only remember apomorphine being given by injection during my nursing days of some time ago, but I'm sure that this newer method of delivering a constant dose by pump must be much more efficient.
It's possible that the person you are caring for was already on apomorphine, given by injection, in which case there might not be such a dramatic difference, just a steadier one, but if this drug is new for that person, then as a carer you should look out for any side-effects and those would especially include sleepiness and feeling sick.
But yes, having apomorphine via a pump should be generally a very efficient way of receiving it.
MAS Nurse's suggestion to get more information from the Parkinson's UK website is a great idea.
Thank you for your reply. We are working with the Britannia nurses so fingers crossed
