I'd advise a visit to family doctor who can assess and diagnose, good luck

Hello frank, please let us know how you get on when you have been seen by the hospital. Wishing you well. Xxxx

Hi Frank1947,

I'm guessing that maybe your doctor hasn't suggested a diagnosis as he/she is sending you for further tests and/or consultation at hospital. If he/she isn't sure, then unfortunately there's no way we can know. We don't have the required training to diagnose and it would be silly to hazard a guess.

I understand this must be a really anxious time for you and that you really want to know what it is that's wrong, but sometimes all we can do is take life a minute at a time and try not to let our brains run on imagining all sorts of horrors that may never come to pass.

So try to be as strong as you can whilst waiting, and distract yourself in any way you can, whenever you start to dwell on what might be wrong.

The very best of luck for a good outcome, but in any case, once you have been seen at hospital you'll have a better idea of what you are up against.

Please come back and let us know how you get on.

Best wishes.

The site will help you get more information on Parkinson's. There is a Parkinson's tremor and there is a benign tremor that is not related to Parkinson's. I don't recall which one may indicate Parkinson's. There are several online resources and support groups related to Parkinson's.

Hi Frank,

Welcome to our supportive community, and as you have begun to find the folks here are very willing to come alongside and share from their experiences, with timely advice. Well done everyone, you are AMAZING!!

You don't mention in your profile which part of the world you are living in, so health provisions may be accessed differently. I agree with what you have been told, you need to see your doctor and ask for some tests to find out what is going on. It is tempting to self-diagnose, but your symptoms could be related to many other conditions to, so it's best to get it checked out. What a lot of folks don't know is that Parkison's is mainly diagnosed on symptom presentation and history, as well as possible family history. Sometimes even very obscure symptoms e.g. loss of taste and smell are indicators, but commonly tremors, slowness of movement and muscle rigidity are typical. PD (Parkinson's disease) differs from person to person. So this needs to be diagnosed by a specialist Parkinson neurologist, who knows what they are looking for. My husband has PD, but no tremors, so tremors and shakes don't always appear in PD. It could also be some other neurological condition or even a medicine reaction, which again needs to be investigated.

Hope this helps, please keep us updated on how you get on.
