There's now just over a month to go until Silver Sunday! For those of you who've not heard of Silver Sunday before - it is an annual day of fun, free activities for those of you who are more mature. The day is a celebration of the knowledge and value that the older generation can bring, while helping to combat loneliness and isolation. Hi Revitalise1963, thanks for putting October the

1st on site, in our city we call it older peoples day. As a volunteer I am involved in showing older persons the options for getting out and about and what is available. This year we have a two day activities organised by several city organisations, to involve families and businesses in the future innovations for older people and to display all the new and proposed options to encourage social inclusion across the generations to prevent isolation and loneliness. Beleive in our city this year it is being called Vitality Festival as there are many free things to do with health and wellbeing, but it will be a fun thing and we have extra transport available for less able. There will be other things going on the week before also, the festival will just be the final activity . I have two groups I'm involve with, Coventry Older Voices & Coventry Widowed on this day I will be representing Coventry Older Voices a group that tries to represent the preferences of people over 55 in Coventry and put our opinions forward to the powers that be to initiate change where needed.
