Bone conduction headphones

Hi have been looking at bone conduction headphones - so I can still listen to natural sound - to help with my tinnitus and not be in ear. Prices vary so is it better to go for better ones? and also wondered whether MP3 or Bluetooth? Or is that just personal preference? I’m early in my journey so not sure if will need hearing aids (mild high frequency loss) and have been advised they would be outside ear ones if so - so may not work with the head phones?

I just ordered my bone conduction headphones as I write this they are due this morning I wouldn’t buy anything that goes in your ear which can further damage your ears and impact on your tinnitus.

Hi

I got a pair of the top end Bluetooth Aftershokz Aeropex.

Really good for me. I don't mask all the time currently, when I do they are perfect. On occasions I've had them on playing quietly while listening to work calls and no issues.

Hi Rob I bought the XtrainerZ but found out no Bluetooth and really a wasted purchase so I don’t know if I should get the Bluetooth ones does your iPhone pick up your model ?

Thanks I am so cross with myself for not doing my homework I should have chosen the Bluetooth on can you stream the sounds from the Apos like white noise ?.

You can still download sounds and music/audioetc. Plus you don’t need your phone. That’s why i was trying to decide which would work best.

Anything that makes a noise from an app you can hear through the headphones. I have an app with all different ambient sounds, which works well. You can also take calls, which is a good feature.

Finally got my bluetooth Aftershoks brilliant and I can return my other non bluetooth fora full refund brilliant customer service .

Found Aftershokz make such a difference. Linked to bluetooth music from phone has been so useful in masking my pulsatile tinnitus bearable.

I have aftershockz aeropex. They are excellent.As is the after sales care. They stopped working after two months. They sent me out a new pair straight away. No questions asked. I can also recommend the “ReSound” App.

I think I maybe the odd one out. I have the aftershockz bluetooth headphones. Find I can only wear them for short periods as they give me a stonking headache, they also don't do much for my high pitched tinnitus other than take my mind off it a bit when walking until the headache kicks in. Ironically I find the in ear buds work much better for me, and actually quieten my tinnitus for a while, and over the ear headphones send my tinnitus roaring. Sorry I'm not much help, and hope the aftershockz work for you.

I use my a little bit of music a lot for distraction for that last bit of T that has not disappeared with my in ear hearing aids. Because I have hearing aids, over ear headphones give screeching feedback. I tried wired bone conduction but wires broke eventually and they are not cheap! I tried wireless bone conduction, but at 29 gm they are heavy and uncomfortable for long term use. Then I found Alova OpenEar Duet Bluetooth. They clip on the ears and direct the sound just outside the ear. I wear them all day long and forget they are there. So light at 18 gm and cost just £15 on Amazon. I have 2 pairs so one is always being recharged.
