Anybody have tinnitus that reacts to tv and music?

I struggle with this. It's not just tinnitus being heard during quiet moments like pauses in songs and tv shows or movies but like tinnitus will compete with every word spoken when people talk on tv and its distracting and with music no matter what music except classical music maybe, I hear tinnitus beeps over certain parts of the song and that can make music sound a little out of tune and that depresses me. Its 6 months like this. I already have hearing loss but this all started after a cold. I worry fans and music and tv will never sound clear for me again. I worry about a fan spiking my tinnitus while watching tv though it seems almost everything spikes it when its around external noise. Anyone else have this? How can I listen to music again?

Hi, yes, mine does that too. I get bad tinnitus when my eustacian tube dysfunction is playing up. The tinnitus seems to get louder with the tv or radio on, like its competing with the sound. The distraction of the music is not great sometimes as it seems to make the tinnitus louder.

How long did this last for you? This can be quite debilitating.

Mine started afyer a sebers sinus infection, terrible tinnitus in right ear, lasted for 11 months. On Aug 1st 2019 I hDad a small op to insert a grommet in my right ear. To start with it was horrible, changed hearing completely as u wd expect. But after a few months I noticed the buzzing had stopped. I did have a whooshing noise wen it was quiet and at night but no buzzing. Now hearing has returned to just abt normal with no buzzing. To be honest the grommet helped relieve the pressure in my eustacian tube but the syress of the op was terrible, i don't think I will ever have it done again. I had the op as my right eardrum almost perforated on 3 occasions, doc cd see fluid behind it and eardrum was bludging. I guess op worked but it was horrible adjusting to the changed hearing, which was a problem before the op. XX
