Hi my tinnitus started about a year ago, October last year I had a MRI to investigate it they had an incidental finding of a meningioma brain tumour, it ended up that I also had a smaller 1 these have now been removed
I have been told not related, has anybody else had the same experience? The noise is louder than ever and it is driving me crazy
I have been told that Betahistine is something that might help any information would be great tia

I’m Wendy and I had a 40 min seizure at work 3 years ago. Taken to hospital MRI and large meningioma found thankfully and long operation to remove. I recovered but it has been life changing. I cannot work now in a job I loved. My memory is shot and I have really bad days. I have regular MRI’s and had to have two close together in December. Since then I’ve had tinnitus. Awful. Researched all help. ENT giving me hearing aids which I get in four weeks. Tinnitus is a fairly high pitched never ending noise mostly in left ear (side of meningioma) but goes across to left. I hate it and feel I went through enough with the tumour.
Morning my tumours were on the right where I also have some hearing loss, the tinnitus on the left.
The GP that I trust and like the most at my practise is away on holiday for two weeks but have booked in to see him as he gets back
Sorry to hear about your job I had already stopped work before the tumours but with memory I think I would find it very hard to have continued working too.
I belong a facebook group meningioma UK which I have found to be very helpful I think I might have had loads of problems coping with my unwanted tenants without the advice I had.
I hope your hearing aids work, have you been given any other treatment or medication?
I take Betahistamine, it has helped with the pulsating tinnitus, I can sleep now, it used to be terrible, especially when I layed down to sleep. Hasn't cured the tinnitus totally but definitely an improvement. Give it a go
Hi, I too have pulsing tinnitus in my left ear...it is in sync with my heartbeat and I only hear in quiet situations like bed. It drives me insane, I have just started taking an antihistamine, here's hoping..!
I saw my doctor yesterday and he has referred my to the local ENT department he said he didnt think Betahistamine would work for me as that was more if the tinnitus was caused by meniere's disease
Thanks, Unfortunately I think that the Drs are guessing when it comes to this, which just adds to the sufferers anxiety and willingness to "try anything".
