Chest physio

Hi I’m 57 and quite new with bronchiectasis diagnosed in December 2017.

I was referred to physio for chest exercises. My appointment is later this month.

I’m not sure what to wear so I am asking you lovely people for your opinion.

I’ve had a chesty cough last couple of days. I do have a rescue pack but the phlegm I am coughing up is clear. So hopefully the cough will ease with rest. It kept me awake last night so very tired today

Hi Matilda. If I were you I would just wear loose comfortable clothing, nothing too tight.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we only coughed during the day. No such luck. Although I am weirdly satisfied if I have a productive cough in the daytime and manage to clear lots of muck from my lungs.

I hope the physio teaches you some good exercises that help you.

Stay well. Gill

Loose comfortable clothing or leggings where you can be flexible are fine, you may get on a bed to learn some techniques.

You'll be taught clearance techniques and exercises … your lungs should feel so much better once you start doing this daily.

Keep well.
